HRE 546R's 20in. question
Ok people im about to order HRE 546R's 20in. rims from California. Man this will take a chunk out off my wallet. Ok this is where i am, they say it will take about three weeks to make it, with a high polish.
I need to know what size offsets to go with, without having any problems rubbing...I have a 2002 LEXUS gs300.. How much of a drop i can go with with these rims.
They are telling me that a 20x10 will not fit the REAR.. some of yall are telling me yes it will. If this does fit what size tires to go with and also what off set.. Please give me same for the front, tire size and width and offset....

Actually, a 20x10 fits fine, it's just a 20x9.5 fits a 275/30-20 better, and a 20x10 fits a 285/30-20 perfectly.
What tire size are you doing?
Front offset
20x8.5 +35
20x9 +42
20x9.5 +38
20x10 +42
These will work with either coil springs or coilovers.

Well im not sure yet what tire size to go with, i guess it depends on how much i drop it. I can go with the tire size you gave me for the back using a 20x10 +42, rim using a 285/30/20. So this will fit without rubbing after dropping it. Now for the front you suggested me going with a 20x8.5 +35, what tire size should i go with that want rub.
How much of a drop i can go with using this set up....

?????????????
20x10" +42 w/285/30/20 WILL rub even with a drop as slight as the Eibach's(1 1/4").....
I had rubbing with 19x10"+41 285/30/19 on Eibach pro-kit.....
My call is a 20x10" +48 w/285/30/20.... I havent seen anyone on this sight run that set-up yet. But, I know of more than a few CL members(including myself) who have experienced rubbing using 10"+41(or lower) rear and 285/30's....

Also depends how "aggressive" you like.
Do you want the totally maxed out look?
I personally like a mildly aggressive fit. I am running a 19x8.5 front +43 and I think it should stick out a tad more. I wouldn't go past +37-38.
I test fit an 8.5" +31 on the front and it stuck out noticeably.
Rear I have 19x9.5 +41 with 275/30 tire and I think it looks PERFECT. Could probably do +38-39 but no more.

I'd say no unless you run a 235 tire...and that is with 19s.
Manaray...one of the most trusted folks on CL runs:
20x8.5 +37 and
20x9.5 +38
I believe he is running 245/35 and 275/30 without issues or fender mod.
He is running custom HREs so I'm pretty sure he did his research.

I had also had an 18x10 +50 with a 275 tire on the rear and it looked WAY sunken in.
If I was buying the rims, I'd run a 10" rear +45-46 with a 285 tire.

I made an error in my earlier post- our second-gen GS 20x10 fitment is actually +44, not +42. This is the same frontspacing (sits the same relative to the fender, the additional 1/2" goes inside) as Manaray's 543 20x9.5 +38, works fine for him.
The 245/35-20 and 275/30-20 is the "correct" set-up for the GS, I would go that route.
I always find it amazing how guys want the triple throw-down super mama-jama fitment, but then don't want to roll the fenders.
You know all those cool Japansese and German cars with the sweet looking wheel set-ups? They ALL have rolled fenders. It's no big deal to modify a Lexus- it's not a collector's item, after all.
Now, a 1962 Ferrari 250 California Spider? That's a different story...

Its easy to forget how small a mm is, so keep in mind all of the affore mentioned set-ups are within 4-5 mm's of each other.
F- 20x8.5"+37-+41 w-245/35/20 should be perfect.(4mm's either way)
R1- 20x9.5"+38-+41 w-275/35/20(4mm's either direction and will look agressive)
R2- 20x10" +43-+46 w-285/30/20 (little more meat on the tire and just as agressive as R1)
In most 10" wheels, you will probably be limited to +41-+43 or +48-+50 as offset choices. You wont see alot of 10" +44-+47......Of course the upper end manufacturers all do custom offsets made to order.
