I have Toyo Proxes T1S's on stock 17's and love them. Work great in the rain - never done ice and snow. After doing quite a few searches here, I couldn't find anyone who was dissatisfied with them.

I have Yoko AVS520's on another car and they are LOUD. I hear the ES100's are supposed to be quieter tho.

If you're just going to drive in dry and wet weather (i.e. rain) and not snow, then from what I hear the Potenza S-03s are the best. If you're looking for a good deal on all season tires, the Pirelli P7000 SuperSport are $98 each on TireRack. I had a set of those on my 3000GT and they were pretty good. Another supposedly good tire for the price is the Sumitomo HTR+. They are only $104 each and compared well against the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S and Pirelli P7000 SuperSport in this test that TireRack conducted on an IS300 with 17" wheels.

If money is not an issue and you want a true all season tire then I'd get the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. I had the Michelin Pilot XGT Z4 (the predecessor to the Pilot Sport A/S) on the stock 17"s that I had on my last GS and I loved them.

i got great treadlife out of the dunlop 6000's. currently using all season tire (MN). bfg g-force kdws. doesn't look as good on the 17's as the dunlops, but great all season tire.

Default tirerack tests

I like reading those tirerack tests -- but I wish they would wear down the tires for ~12k-15k miles THEN do the tests. I always wonder how the cheaper tires perform near the end.

One other thing I forgot to mention. All season tires like the Michelin, Pirelli and Sumitomo will last much longer than the Bridgestone S-03's. All season tires are usually made from a harder rubber so they last longer. Since the Bridgestone S-03's are a performance tire, they will be made from a softer rubber so they will stick to the road better for better handling but this softer rubber will wear out faster.

You'll notice the difference in UTQG ratings (treadwear rating) between a performance tire and all season tire from the same manufacturer. You cannot compare UTQG ratings from one manufacturer to another because each manufacturer sets their own baseline rating. Here is an explanation of UTQG ratings.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/general/utqg.htm

Just to give you an idea, the Bridgestone S-O3's have a UTQG treadwear rating of 220 and the Bridgestone RE950's have a rating of 400 which means that the RE950's will last almost twice as long as the S-03's.
