Default Offset Question

The wheels I'm looking at have two options for the front, both are 18x8.5. The two offset options are 30 and 40mgl? The rears are 18x9.5 with an offset of 35 mgl. I'm not sure what to go with in the front. I've seen the offset diagrams, but having a little trouble understanding. I want the fronts to have a nice lip, and want them to be as close to the rear as possible. Should I go with the 30 or 40?

Going on a 93 LS if you don't catch my sig. Thanks!

30's will sit more flush, 40's might fit a touch better (more under the fender) and allow a wider tire...

kind of a toss up...

lip will be the same between the two...

Ok, if the lip is the same I'll go with the 30 for a better fitment. I have 225/40/18's on the front right now on a 7 inch wheel. They should be ok on the 8.5, right? I know it will have more of a stretch, but thats what I wanted.

I'm planning on switching the rear tires too. The rears are currently 245/45/18 on a 7 inch wide wheel. Will those be ok to go on the new 9.5 wide wheels?

Thanks, again

will be fine front and rear... I ran a wider setup on my SC, same wheel widths, but ran 255's up front and 285's in the back....

I thought about going a little wider, but with as low as I am I need the clearance. I might go wider in the rear, but that will be after these tires are gone. I'm pretty sure I'll have to roll/trim the fenders considering the rub every once in awhile now.
