Question Best tire/rim combonation

what's the best tires to use on the oem factory rims? i have hp eagle's 215/60/15..on my `90 LS....i believe that's how it goes. and i've noticed on the inner side of the tire tends to wear out and starts to tear open holes near the rim i've replaced two tires already. is there a set of tires that are perfect for them? any info is much appreciated. thanks. also somewhere that sells them would help also.

oh yeah...if you have a set with 80% left on them and want to get rid of them let me know.

Wonder why your tires are doing that..

Could be a bad rim, or check your alignment.

I'd like to have an answer to this too..Not that I'm going to do it, but I'd still like to have somethign better than the tires I have now.

I would recommend Michelin Pilot Sport A/S if you are considering to upgrade your stock wheels to a larger size since they only come in 16" and up. Otherwise, I suggest you get a Michelin brand tire. As for the inner tread wear you're experiencing...I think it's most likely due to too much negative camber (top of the wheel leans toward the center of the car). You might want to get your wheels realigned to fix the problem.

The correct tire size on 90&91 LS OEM rim is 205-65-15. My 91LS came with 225-55-16 tires, and the car does not ride as smooth nor as quite as the OEM sized tires. I am going to downsize my tires to 215-60-16 in search for world-renown Lexus smoothness.
Any comments?

its not the inner tread...its the "inner wall" ...its like punctures on the inner side close to the rim...i dont know if its because i do fast take off's but it has happened to two of the tires.

Oh...it's the inner wall? Hm...could it be 'cause the pivot arm is rubbing on your tire?

nope......its not that either...so far it just happened to my front right side and rear right side...what it looks like it does is starts to crack...kind of like when someone's ashy and they need lotion...and then it splits like if someone slashed the tire.

Woah...must be a really bad quality tire then huh? Might I suggest a Michelin or Goodyear brand tire? I would lean more toward Michelin because some Goodyear brands tend to leak air.
