Default Winter tires?

Just bought a 2012 IS350 AWD (SOOOO Sweet) yesterday wonder what's the consensus on either having two different sets winters/ summers or just changing rubber back and forth at the season. According to the sales person the wheel sensor light will stay on or could get damaged when doing the swap?

New to both the Lexus world and the site so any help would be much appreciated..

I have a 2013 Lexus GS 350 Fsport AWD and use a separate winter wheels (18 inch with Michelin PA4 winter tires). My summers are 19 inch standard F-sport rims with all season continental tires. I have two separate programs for the TPMS, Its better then swapping out the tires on the same rims. It decreases cost of mount/installation 2x a year. I do road force balancing which is FAR superior then dynamic balancing and cost more (200 dollars total for 4 tires to be mounted and balance) but I get vibration-free ride. I do this at a tirerack installer with Hunter Road force machines. Lexus are sensitive to tire balance.

Yes, it is a lot less work to just swap tires and wheels at your home. Usually the cost of new wheels offset the extra mount and balance fees after a year or two. But if you can't swing new wheels there is no harm in swapping tires on your existing wheels. TPMS is pretty much the norm on every vehicle 07' and forward, so this nothing new to a tire shop and if they break your sensor installing the tires they'll be buying you a new one, so it's not really a worry.
