225/45/17 on a 08 gs350? Any thoughts?

Need tires and thinking of lowering from 225/50/17 to 225/45/17. Is it a good idea? Anyone done this?

What is your reasoning?

The shorter tire will carry less weight as well as increase the fender gaps, it will effectively look like the car was lifted, although it will actually be closer to the ground by a small amount...

You could run a slightly wider tire, 245/45-17 which will be very close to the factory diameter and will get you back to close to the same weight carrying capabilities as well...
