Need new rubber, where to get it for the best price?
My front 2 tires are creating bald spots on the outsides, and I am nearing the point where new wheels will be needed. Should the purchase for new tires be made online, or should I try to find them locally? I drive an 06 IS250 with factory wheels.
Where did you guys/girls go to get new tires for the best price?

its hard to beat tires found in the classified section of this forum. However, you kind of have to be lucky to find the right sizes/makes you want for your car.
Tirerack sells tires for pretty cheap online. I would post in your regional section and ask if there's a specific tire store that gives good discount. There's a few in CA that are cheap, but I doubt that would help you since your in Tennessee.

onlinetires.com and whatever gville350 posted, I say try adding whichever tires you want and see what the checkout price is. I found the tire prices for each site varies while discounttiredirect has free shipping.
Also, find a shop that you want to get them mounted/balanced, have the online dealer ship the tires there so you don't have to pack them all in your car.

I personally use discount tire for the tires and installs. I have been using them for about 5 years with no bad experiences. Also because i'm a long time customer they always re-program TPMS sensors for me for free where the dealer wanted to charge 1+ hour labor for something that takes 10 minutes.

Find the price on tire rack, then go to discount tire and have em match it (they always do, and it's always a decent savings over what they wanna charge you if you just walk in off the street not knowing any better).
Also, if you do the TPMS rebuild kits, be sure they don't replace your nice Lexus metal valve caps with the crappy plastic ones that come in the kits (ask me how I know )

If you have the AWD IS250 be careful buying 2 tires as all 4 must match in this scenario. If it is the RWD version just be sure the front tires you are buying are not higher performance than the rears you will be keeping on the car.

its just RWD, thanks all. I went to discount tires website, very cheap tires, I will read the reviews before making a purchase. Great advice, thanks again!
I never would have thought to have them ship to the shop where they would be putting them on. Great Idea!

Don't want to get into a thread hijack so PM me for an online org who will easily beat anyone else out there. Just bought a set of huge truck tires that they saved me over $900 on so bought a sweet set of the new Condi's for wife's GS! Saved a bundle on these and never seen such expert packing and superior customer service who is highly knowledgeable too!
