Exclamation Most comfortable/quiet tires?

I am in dire need of new tires! I live in Houston, Texas so the weather down here is usually always sunny with rain about 15% of the time. It rarely ever snows so keep that in mind. I like to have a lot of wet traction for the rain because of my driving style, and of course during the dry as well. But I want a very smooth, quiet, and comfortable tire. IS250, 18's.

Thanks in advance for all your help!

I ran yokohama S-drive 18's when I had 18's. They were much quiter then the Dunlop's, and Nexxus I had prior on the same rims. I paid a lil more but lasted a long time and comfortable and quiet ride.

i prefer the Hankook Ventus V12 tires. i did alot of research on here and alot of people recommend this tire. i am running 18 inch staggered fitment on my 350. they are quiet and grip well. the ride is very smooth. i bought them from discount tire direct for $650 with $80 mail in rebate.

I did have the dunlop sport maxx sp tires. great ride quality but very loud road noise.

Hankook ventus v12 is the best base on what you want. If you want great handling tires as well then get michelin super sport . They are better then ventus v12 in every way except cost. I run am very satisfied with my michelins and am not looking back.

Dunlop Sport Maxx tires were on my IS350 and they were noisy from day one and only got worse.

I switched to Hankook Ventus and am very happy with them. They are priced right, far less expensive than Michelin's or other similar tires, and they are very quiet in comparison. I just drove 1,200 miles in two days mostly at 75 and 80 mph and I give them a for being very quiet and giving a good ride. It didn't rain at all so can't comment on the wet performance. i got them at Discount Tire which are located in most of the states I travel through so that is a plus for me. Ordered them online through their website, got a call two days later that they had arrived, drove down and was out in 45 minutes.

A lot depends on your driving style, if you want super performance on the backroads (hard to do in Houston) than go Michelin, but if most of your miles are highway cruising with occasional squirts on the weekend get the Hankook. Most people never use the capacity of a super sport summer tire on the streets.

Probably the best All Season Ultra High Performance tire on the market right now. Superior to the RE960's and I love mine...

They do have snow performance as one of their key features though, and if in Houston, you don't necessarily need that.

My recommendation for a high performance, quiet, low profile tire for your car would either be the Bridgestone S-04's or the Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Those are the two best high performance tires, have excellent wet weather traction, and they are quiet as well.

I would do some research on www.tirerack.com and look through user reviews. Chances are you will find most people agree with my recommendations here.

I have the Bridgestone Potenza RE970AS Pole Position tires on my IS and they have transformed the ride from the factory Dunlop's. I also have 18's and wet traction was a primary concern, as I have dedicated winter tires. I have been more than impressed with these tires and don't think given the 40 series sidewall profile you could even do any better on the ride.
