Default Need some help w/ tire selection

I have:

20" 8.5 wheel

I need:

245/35/20, good tread wear, not loud, smooth ride

I have found:

Nitto 555 - $254 (discount tire)
Bridgestone Potenza S03- $252 (tire rack)

Thanks for the help!

POTENZA S03 is about 100 times better than Nitto NT555 IMO. Both are decent tires, though.

I'd get the S03. The Nittos also have a rep for looking "fat".

How about DUNLOP SP9000 (a VIP guy's favorite)?

GSTRANCE - Nothing yet, I am just gathering ideas. I passed on the Binnos, however I have always had this wacky love for Dronell CA-05's. I know someone who thinks he found me a set, but the offset might be wrong

WHEEL EXPERTS - Thanks for the feedback!

See ya.

if the price is very close, either S-03 or SP9000 for sure...the SP9000 will most likely last longer

For the same price, I would take the S-03's also...I just got my Nittos for damn dirt cheap...almost free. In 20", they do not look fat at all..they look quite nice actually.

The Nittos however, will DEFINITELY outlast the S-03...probably outlast two sets of S-03's if you're not getting all crazy on them...

If the Nittos outlast the S-03's, why why would you take the S-03's. Are they more noisy?

I've ridden in a car with 20's and Toyo-T1s

They ride great, didn't seem to have too much road noise.

I have owned a set of the Nitto 254-35-20 NT555, and the tire does last loneger than other tires in its class. But, the tire(245-35-20) is NOISY and the tire looks EXTREMELY FAT on a 8.5 inch wheel. I was upset when they mounted the tire on the wheel and I saw how fat it looked. If I were you I would go for the s03 or the dunlop, but if price is a concern check tirerack for the kumho in a 255-35-20. Even though the nitto is a 245 it is so fat that it is actually the same size if not bigger than the kumho 255.
