Bridgestone S-03 owners
Damndest thing I’ve ever seen – since installing the TC, I can spin wheels at will – now I’m not interested in spending almost $1,000 a set anymore often than necessary, so I don’t spin’em just because I can – BUT when they do spin, they don’t squeal???? We’re talking dry pavement and a variety of different streets – pretty much all concrete. I just can’t over not hardly getting a “peep” out of these tires??? Anybody else notice this???

I spent $800 on my set of S-03's. Unless I'm on smooth, clean concrete, they do not squeal. Often the only way I know that I have broken loose is the traction control kicking in or the tail starting to swing.

Garnet,
Exact same experience for me. More of a shooshing sound; the only time I get any squealing at all is when I'm pushing hard laterally (going around a curve a bit too hard with VSC off). Even then there isn't much noise.

Same here with stock Bridgestones. Total absence of squeal, but lots of smoke!!!! At least it's nice not to have axle tramp......THAT sounds like the back end of the car's falling off!!!

yup....no sound what so ever. The tire will spin but the sound is coming from the lose gravel leaving the tires...... strange.
I wish my exhaust could that same effect.........I guess I am asking too much...

The "quiet" tire
So I guess that the Bridgestones S-03's are STEALTH tires - spin 'em without alerting the LEOs (Law Enforcement Officer) nearby?
It must be because of the rubber composition, I'm guessing that the soft compound that contributes to good wet and dry traction is the reason.
Anybody on a 2nd set (or more)? Just wondering what kind of mileage I can expect with 90% town driving and occasional spinning (since the TC)?

Can't help you there [regarding how long they will last], I'm on my first set and they are just a few months old. I am a big fan of the stealth characteristics of the tires.

Maybe it's the kid in me .. but I have a pair of Michelin shoes on my ride, and they too are quiet unless on a really smooth surface.
I get that "shoosh" as well when i throw it in a u-turn. But I can get 'em squealing on nice smooth asphalt.

Yup my Michelins never squeal in corners either, but do a little in a straight line on some surfaces.
When power sliding the rear end, I hear my exhaust more than anything else.
Just ask Rominl and Jawnthen as my witnesses. They have been in my car while sideways.

Noisy. Darn, that's exactly what I did not want to hear! I moved away from the Yoko AVS because the sound was so bad. I hope the S-03's wear better.

i'm on my second set........ got 15k on themm. The fronts wore really bad with neg. camber but the back's don't have much. They get REALLY noisy as they wear down.

As far as I can tell, all performance tires get noisy as they wear.
I think the best bet is to sound proof your car.

I have had the exact same experience with my Michelin Pilot Sports. Being new into the sport arena, I figured it was because of how soft most Z rated tires are. I could squeal the hell out of my BFGoodrich All-Terrains I had on my old SUV.
