Default Want to put 2011 IS350 18 X 8.5 +50's all around on my 2010 GS350 AWD

Hey guys. I've been digging through a crapload of CL posts and have only found a couple of references to IS 18's on 3G GS's. I saw one post where someone had IS 18's 8.5's all around with no problems but I need the advice of our wheel/tire gurus.
I'm looking at a set of 2011 IS 18's, but the only way to get the ones I want is to buy the 8.5" rears of the staggered setup. I'm fine with 8.5s but they are +50 offset (as opposed to the 8's standard +45). I'm confident they will clear the front brakes (at least I hope they would). Can anybody advise me?
Also, I'm thinking 245 on tire width. Let me know what ya'll think.

I'll be ditching my stock 17's cheap (if anybody's interested) if this works out.

Thanks for the help!

Default Really!!?? Nobody!?

I can't believe no one had a comment.

I did find a post by Binary Jay who put IS 350 8.5 x +50mm ISP Modes on his Gen 3 GS350. Rominl stated that he thought they would fit. I couldn't find anything else.

I'll let you know if mine do fit. Maybe someone could use the info in the future.

They appear to be a good fit as far as the offset, center bore, and bolt circle. My only concern is the GS probably has larger front calipers and depending on where the drop center of the wheel is positioned it may rub the top of the caliper. It's looks like it may be worth trying though.

Default Wheel & Tire Gurus!! Did a test fit!

I test fitted the 2011-12 IS 18's and they clear the brakes fine. They look like they fit well, but my concern is they're awfully close to the front knuckles. The knuckles appear to float and adjust with the tire position. I have about 5mm clearance between the inside of the rim and the knuckle.
Anybody see any issues with the tires rubbing against the knuckles? I plan on running 245-18-40's

Your advice and help is appreciated. :thumbs up:

Thanks!

the knuckle does not move in relation to the tire/wheel whatsoever... if it does, there is a wheel bearing issue... sure, some might flex just a little, but I wouldn't worry about it at all...
