Default 18" rims on an ES w/o the drop??

I'm looking in to putting18" rims on my '92 ES without the drop since I'm in NYC, would it look like an SUV or would it maintain decent ride height?

"look" can be a very personal thing....YES, it would look more aggressive and "better", IMHO with lowered suspension..BUT, if you like it without no drop(for practicality)...then stay stock...like the saying.."beauty is in the eyes of beholder"..

I agree with Will's "eye of the beholder" statement, but I've beheld what you're considering and wouldn't let my car be seen in public like that. I've got a 92 ES as well and test fit my wheels (18x8, 225/40 tires) before we did the suspension work; and it looked real funny. Big fender gap, looked totally wrong. I used B&G springs (1.6" drop) and Tokico struts and it looks good and greatly improved the handling. It could be a little lower, it's not sitting right on the tires, but it's low enough to look good and the car is still very driveable, haven't bottomed it out yet. I paid $500 for the suspension from www.shox.com; IMO it would be a wise investment; I wouldn't do wheels without it, it'll end up looking pretty ghetto.
