daygo718: yep, we've used the 640R series on the 7-series applications, but other cars would be difficult- we make only 3.5" and 4.0" outer rims in 22". The BMW lends itself well to this set-up.
Richie & Peter: Thanks for the kind words, as always. That set-up is known within HRE as "another Bob Hale patented fitment."
No mods are required, BTW.

Does the LS430 have a chance with that diameter/width/offset/tire size??????????

There is barely a tire to support 21" fitment on that car (only option is 245/35/21, which is already too tall). I don't think it will work.
Also BMW runs low offset front and rear, which gives you more room. lexus is quite high, and the fenderwells aren't as deep.

Bob,
Finally a 7 series that I can fall in love with.. Not taking anything away from the Hartges which look nice but the HRE's in gunmetal on that 7 look absolutely perfect since the car is so big bodied the lip action serve to accentuate the lines and makes it look mean.. The 22" size help too..
Great job Bob!!
BTW thanks again for the GS400 and SC430 offset advice.. Wheels turned out perfect on both cars!

This has turned into quite an interesting thread...
BTW, the 640R series are available in four other styles, including a mesh, 12-spoke, six spoke, and a seven spoke... something for everyone.
Tiny: Peter is right, the Lexus cars just can't support the 22s. The tires are just too tall. Remember, BMW offers the 745 with standard 18" & optional 19x9 + 19x10 or 20x9 + 20x10 wheels from the factory!
2SAVVY: thanks! Always glad to help. Have photos?
