Default IS300 With 18x8.5 F&R. What Size Tires

should I run all around if I do NOT want to stagger? I plan on lowering it but to just level it out and get rid of the wheel wells, not going for the "slammed" look.

225/40's all around? Or would 235/40s all around be ok? Will 235s on a 8.5 rub if I don't roll the fenders? Thanks...

kj..

if you do not plan on staggering, then all around would be the choice.

to be on the safe side, 8s(actually 7.5s are recommended according to my jdm wheel guides) would be the max that i would run with no fender rolling, esp on the front.

225/40/18, 18x7.5 f+r

you will have prob with the front on 8.5/235s with no fender roll

or 18x7.5(225/40/18)+8.5(235/40/18)..just for reference.

i was hoping to be able to run the 8.5's with 225/40's all around w/o any problems. So I will have to roll the fronts for this set-up to work? 18x8.5 f&r with 225/40s?

most likely you will need to roll the fender...also depends on how low you drop the IS

i bought my wheels from a guy that had them on his IS300. he ran 225/35/19 front and a 235/35/19 rear, seemed to work just fine

I have found that 18/19x8 +40 is really ideal for the IS. If you're going 8.5", you'll need to keep the offset high (about +45) to keep off of the front & rear fenders (if you refuse to modify them).

The 18/19x8.5 +45 will likely rub on the inner plastic fender liner on the front wheel wells during lock-to-lock parking manuevers. You can live with it, or use a heat gun to 'distort' the plastic liners out of the way.

The 225/40-18 really squares up nice on an 8" wide wheel. The 235s look about perfect on an 8.5", but I can't promise they won't rub.

It's all about the width/offset combination. What specific combos are available in the wheels you have chosen?
