tire pressure on GS430
you can see my wheel/tire setup in my signature. What would you guys recommend for a tire pressure on this setup. Right now I think its around 30lbs .. and I'm thinking it might be low.

I have the L-Tuned 18s and they came from the factory at around 30 - 31 warm. I gradually increased it until I am now running 38 warm. The car handles more consistently since I upped the pressure.
I think you are running a little low too. Try going to 34 and incrementally increase the pressure to see if you like it better. I think you should stop around 40, however. I know people who run it into the 40s but I am comfortable where I am now.
Good luck.

The good digital guages have a calibration button to reset the zero pressure point.
I go 35- 36 front and 33-34 rear. There's not as much weight out back, so a little less pressure will minimize the ride harshness, plus the car will probably handle more neutrally.

Digital pressure gauges are junk, I have the one from the Brookstore and it's a POS it doesn't give me an accurate reading, just go to the store and buy one of those regular pressure gauges, doesn't get any more accurate then that.

My definitely analog little guage seems to be very consistent and accurate. It's one with a round guage with needle that rotates around the face, not one of those pencil types with the plastic or metal piece that shoots out the end!
I keep my 18's at 36 cold all around. 30 is WAY too low in my opinion.

Digital or analog, there are surely good and bad of both, so how do we prove it?
Anyone seen a magazine shootout on tire pressure guages?

Guys I enjoy your sarcasm, but seriously and to Hohlraum's point, how can anyone test to see if their guage is accurate and hasn't degraded over time ? ?

Consumer Reports actually has one jus about a year ago. It rated high on the list the digitals for consistency and accuracy. Top-rated was the "Monkey Grip" model M8867 sold at auto parts store for around $12. I've had it since.
Two years ago, CR also did a test and rated high were the mechanical types. I also bought the top rated then and still have it.
When I compare the two now, they're fantastic either way.

Well, there is no way for me to really tell if my guage is accurate. I try to check my pressure every two weeks. The pressure is usually dead on. Every once in a while, I see a drop of maybe .5 psi in a tire or two. I just give it a little air to even things out.
Although I have not had any issues with my ride using this method of checking the pressure, I have no quantifiable eveidence that the guage is dead-on accurate.
