Default Can my tire be repaired?

I recently got a nail in my tire (Continental DWS 225/45/17 with only 1000 miles).

I took it to Pepboys and Firestone and both said they can't patch it because it's too close to the sidewall.

Do you think my tire can be repaired? It's relatively new and was hoping I don't have to go out and buy a new one.

Thanks.

I'd say it's a bit too close the sidewall as well.
Better off to replace the tire than risking a blow out.

I'd say borderline, but too close to take the risk.

Nope, too close to the sidewall.

thats actually the worst place it can be...

in that area, it has done damage where the edge of the tread belts are, where the reinforcing edge strips are, and also where the body plies make the bend from sidewall to tread...

Is it even leaking?

Where did you purchase the tires? Any road hazard warranty at all? Discount Tire, for instance, includes a pro-rated road hazard for free with purchase of their tires. A pro-rated replacement on that would likely be almost free...

Yes, the air was leaking but slowly. It took 2-3 days for the air to fully get out. I purchased it from tiresavings.com but no hazard warranty. I'll give them a call but looks like they don't have a similar policy like Discount Tire.
