Balancing 20" Rims
Have any of you had a problem keeping balance on your 20's? I have 20's on my Infiniti QX4 and have had them balanced 2 times in the last 2 months. The car still shakes around 80MPH. It also seems to pull to the left on the highway. In the city it drives fine.
I have Toyo Proxes ST which are a directional tire. The places I take it to say that 20's on up are a pain to balance.. What do you guys think??

I think you should be able to get them balanced, although I know people with Giovanna 20's they cannot get them balanced for the life of them and those with good quality wheels have no problem balancing them. What kind of wheels are they? Maybe it is a out of round tire?

jps pretty much nailed it...often times it depends on the "trueness" of the wheels itself...on good quality wheels, you do not even need any wts and they are 100% balanced....

gs4will- Well those run about $3200 for chrome 20" wheels and tires so I will assume they are a lower quality wheel which may be a pain to balance, if you can get them balanced. Same problem with those Gio 20's...

Are they really a lower quality wheel? I think they are forged which I always thought was a stronger wheel. I paid a little over$3200 for all four. But then again the shop had a set of Epic wheels with Goodyear tires for $2000. I am going to take my car to a shop in Hartford today that does nothing but rims and see what they say.

LX470Mann- I am not really sure, but when I see wheels for $3200 that are chrome, 20" and come with tires at that price, based on that they sound low quality although you never know, maybe they are just a real good deal, maybe someone else knows about this wheel? I just know that the people I know with good quality wheels never complain and I know people with 18-19-20" wheels that are cheap and or knock off's that have balancing problems, many Giovanna owners...
