Hey guys, since the GS is my first car, I have an ignorant question here. When i make turns, the tires sometimes squeak on the car. I do not know what this is from. I thought that the tires where in bad condition but they seem good. What else could it be or should I have the tires professional checked?

Are they the stock tires? Screeching means you are the tire limits when you are cornering.

its not skidding. I know what skidding is. It happens when i make the turns at about 5-10 mph. I have mad turns much faster before.

Is it possible that some tire dressing made it onto the edge of the treads?

Just want to make sure that you and I are talking about the same thing: the sound is very light and short, right?
It's normal, bro. Don't worry about it. Mine do that too sometimes. It has a lot to do with the surface that your tires are on and with the type of tire you got. I've got Pirellis and had Pirellis before these ones and Pirellis before those. It's a very quiet tire, but it does squeak at a 5 mph turn on certain types of asphalts.

As others said before, don't worry about it. My dad's rx squeeks in the garage(smooth cement), and the X5 at the dealership squeeks on the rubber/tile floor.

U might wanna check ur tire pressure, make sure they are at about 36-38 PSI

funny. Is it possible i cornered too hard before and that harmed the tires? I actually have made turns really fast on it, that it felt like the car was goin to lift.

Mine started to do squeak on hard turns after I got my alignment done. I think my tires wore unevenly because the alignment was so out of whack. Now that the alignment is corrected, the uneven wear is making them squeak.

Do they squeek on black asphalt (eg, the street)?

Do they squeek on very shiny cement surfaces (eg, parking garages)?

At 5-10mph while turning, my guess is that they are squeeking due to the surface you are driving on like others have stated. Try to make a mental note what surfaces you are driving on that cause the tires to squeek. Hope this helps...

The noise if from my tires. It happens on all surfaces. I think i might have uneven wear. I am going to have my wheels aligned to see if that helps.
