Default Rear tires wear out quickly

I have a 2002 SC430 and I can't keep tires on the back. They wear out evenly across the tire. The alignment is good and the shocks are fine. I have tried different brands and I get the same results. Any suggestions.

How many miles are you going before they wear out? What is the tread wear rating on the tires you are buying? All things being equal, RWD cars would wear the rear tires out faster than the fronts.

Post your mileage, alignment readings, and your current tire model.

Hopefully you dont do burnouts, accelerate hard, turn hard or hard stop. Those can affect your tires to wear out faster. Also, depends on the roads you drive, like if u drive alot on gravel roads, those wear out your tires too.

I've had the same problem with my Sc400. I changed the Stock Speed Rating (from V..149MPH to H130MPH.) I noticed that all the tire's tested in the Consumer Reports with a V Speed Rating had fair to poor tread life, whereas the lower Speed Ratings showed (tire wear) longevity.

if the toe is set improperly in the rear, you can get even wear across the tire, yet still wear the tires quite fast...

I got 30k miles out of each set of ultra high performance Bridgestones and BFGoodrich tires, with pretty aggressive driving and alignment settings... the toe setting is the key though...

I have a 99 LS lowered on Megans with a 2 finger gap with no post lowering alignment. I now have about 41k miles on my Yokohama S.drives and although very low on tread I still have a few thousand miles left in them with pretty even treadwear. You should possibly look into some tires with a higher treadwear rating.

I would say that luck has a lot to do with it in your case... I would say that the toe specs stayed pretty close to where they are supposed to be... Not everyone gets that lucky - Most, even with similar, or even tires that are supposed to last as long/longer, that lower their cars, end up with extremely short life spans of their tires...

Although treadwear ratings play a factor, when it comes to very quick wear, its usually the driver or alignment or both...

I am also curious to know how quickly the OP is going through tires...
