Default help me out with a newbie question

why is it that I see people running a taller tire in the front compared to the back?

for example. 225/35/20 front
255/30/20 rear.

I'd appreciate the info.
thanks.

Here's some good information on how to read tire sizes.

Reading the Tire's Sidewall

To your example above, the 225/35-20 is about the same diameter when compared to the 255/30-20. The 255/30-20 is wider than the 225/30-20.
