Default Depends...

Offset is specific to each wheel design, not a wheel size. Generally I'd say any where between +35 and +45 will work, but that's a pretty big range and certain designs may tuck in too much or stick out too far as a result. Really need more info to help you.

Johnny Mo,

The wheels are OZ Antares from the tirerack. They sell it in 18x8 with a +40 or +48 offset. Which would be better on the GS?

Default Wheel offset

Assuming since you're getting 18x8 wheels, you won't be putting anything wider than 255 on the back, so the 40mm offset would fill out the fender well better. You're only talking about 5/16" difference in offset between the 40 and 48 anyway. I think the standard offset of the Lexus 17" OEM wheels is about 42-43mm. Offset is the horizontal distance from the axial centerline of the wheel (and tire) to the face of the hub. If the wheel centerline is inboard of the hub face, the offset is positive, and vice-versa. I have the stock 17x8s with 235/45 tires, and there is about 3/4" to 1" room for expansion in the fender without rolling. Are you going to go with wider tires in back or same all around? Good luck with your new wheels.

If you ever plan on doing the Supra Brake upgrade don't get either...I have +44 (the lower the number the more space for brakes...I know it's reverse logic) Anyway, if you are not planning the brakes get the +40 the 48 will sit in the wheel well more and with my 44's they are good. The 40's will set your wheels (the face of them) just about even with the fender lip (slightly inside).
