OK FYI : 245's on the front & running great seems to give a little better ride & more stable in cornering.

I was about to ask the same quesiton.

So 235/40/18 will make the side wall more flushed with the side of the car? than OEM 225/40/18 which is strerches the tires, correct?

It's way too much of a difference between the rear OEM and front OEM tires.

Glad to hear more responsive handling.

Thumbs up

After a couple thousand miles on 245/40/18's on the front of my 07 IS350 OEM standard suspension & X-pac wheels: Huge improvement in every way EXCEPT very slight rubbing on inner fender lining if entering or exiting driveway with wheels turned near full lock. So if you never want rubbing at all I recommend 235/40/18. My car rides much better, corners much better, generally feels more stable & this is with less toe in the alignment for more even tread wear!

I'm curious, as I just ordered a 2011 IS350, and I was thinking of buying a second set of wheels the 18" x 8.5" REAR wheels to replace the front wheels which per the book are 18" x 8.0" wheels with the 225/40 YR18 tires. I mainly wanted to do this to be able to rotate the tires for more even wear.

What is the width of your rims you have the "X-Pac Wheels". Just curious if they were 8.5" or 8.0" or larger. Since that could impact the rubbing issue you mention.

Also I just noticed from your car photos the wheels look allot like the new 18" wheels on the 2011 Luxury package car I just ordered.

I want to try and work out something with the dealer to get the front wheel/ tires replaced with a set of rears to have even tires on all 4 corners.

For the life of me I can't understand why they stagered the wheels on this car, it isn't a corvette (my old 1996 Corvette was like this hated it ever time I bought tires which was once then I sold it).

Any one know if the rear OEM wheels will fit on the front with the stock tires 245/40 YR18 and still rub or not???
