Default Got the LE37Ks w/S-03s

Got the new rims & tires put on the car Monday. They replaced the stock chrome 17"s w/Yokohama AVS Sports 245/50r17.

Volk LE37K: 18x8.5+40, 18x9.5+40, Gunmetal w/Machined Lip [fronts are a hair over 16lbs, rears a tad more]
Bridgestone S-03 PP: 245/40r18, 27535r18

Impressions:

The car must be lowered ASAP. Actually the first words out of the installers mouth, too. I'll have to cut/roll the fenders when I do as there is no clearance. Volk recommended 235/40 and 265/35 but I'm a stubborn S0B and went to the higher size as I like the look and the curb protection.

My brakes are covered with rust and look like crap -- I need bigger/better brakes ASAP.

The car is now quiet. Never realized how much noise the Yokos made but the difference is big! The ride is smoother, too. Weird to describe, I can feel more through the steering wheel but the car seems to float. Ah, that could be a side effect of the lack of noise.

Overall I'm pretty pleased. Down the line I may end up painting the rims more of a OZ silver.

Are you sure that it'll rub? You're setup is a few mm more conservative than mine (and I'm running 20's) and I don't rub...remember, the wheels "arc" inward on compression...they don't compress straight up and down...

Oh, here's a super quickie photochop of your car lowered...

Default Lookin good.

Can't wait for my rims to get here!!

Definitely need the drop tho.

Can you post some pics from the back and side? I'd like to see how they fill up the wheel wells and why you think they'd rub.

Late.

Manaray, thanks for the drop!

I am aware of the inward arc and no, I'm not sure they will rub. That's just my admittedly inexperienced eyeball assessment. I won't start any surgery until I'm sure it's needed.

I'll post some pictures from the front/rear angles tonight.

Put a couple of big guys in the back seat & drive the car around... if it doesn't run over big dips, it won't rub when lowered.

Looks good... I really like the color! Time to drop it, pimp-daddy!

Default Thanks!

Just the pics I was looking for.

This is a hard question to ask but here goes...

How evenly do the wheels sit as compared to the edge of the fender front and back? Basically, how are the +40 offsets? Does the front wheel "tuck" more than the rear or vice-versa? It looks pretty even but it is hard to tell since the front wheel is angled a bit in the pics.

Cheers.

you're going to love those s-03's in the rain.......... i do!

For a drop, try l-sportline springs. I just put them on mine with 19's and the gap is just under 2 fingers and drives smoother that before.

Coils get too stiff and if you get the shocks from l-sportline you can adjust them up and down an additional 1/2 inch
Keep in mind that you must completly remove the set to do this.

Jbbnet: I like the S-03s a lot already although it will be a while before rain becomes an issue. My car was actually a garage queen [sunny weather only] until 6 months ago when I traded in my other cars to get the wife something.

AgS400: The front and rear tuck pretty evenly at +40. Just came back from the parking lot to check it out [I needed the break].

I no longer think the wheels will rub. I have not done the 3 big people in the back seat test, but I did take a much closer look from a few different angles.
