It means putting on a smaller width on a larger width wheel that usually requires a higher tire width. Post up in the tires section or just search through subforums. Lots of people stretching tires.. I am stretching tires.

Sucks and is scary as hell in the rain.. lost control today on a curvy road but my car handled it perfectly.. I just drifted a bit

It's just a style that some people like (just for looks, as far as I know).

Example:

If you lower your car and your tire is too fat, it will RUB. I'm sure if you google it you can find a lot of info man

bc if you want to be flush, meaning your wheels being flush with your fenders you typically need to run somewhat of a stretched tire, getting a lower profile tire wont do you any good, you need to stretch your tire so it angels inward away from your fender lip......

just search it, you will see tons of info

It's pretty much only for looks. Like what everyone else has said, you stretch a tire to gain increased fender clearance with the inward angle, then you can put the tire as close as possible to the fender eliminating not only top to bottom wheel gap, but side to side wheel gap.

Yeah, it's also prone to be dangerously sexy.

....But on the real, it really is a bit unsafe. Parallel parking is even riskier with a stretch since you can get curb rash super easily. I've already popped two tires on the free way hitting a sideways pole and kinda messed up my rims. It's not for the faint of heart.

Wwwooooww seriously?

Stretched tires are necessary if you want to put big wheels on and make them still fit under your fenders.

Its only dangerous if you drive like a jackass.

The disadvantage to small sidewall is that:
-if you dip in a pothole, you hit rim, not tire
-you feel more bumps in the road because the squishy tire doesn't absorb them
