a bit too high in my opinion....if you're going to run 19x8.5 all around, you might go with between 37 and 41.

The tire is too big also...needs to be 245/35/19

245/35 helps, but the tire may rub on the inner fender liner...anyone run this setup before?

8.5 +44 will surely work in the rear, and my data suggests it will work up front with a 245/35zr19, too.

The wheel will have a 'sucked in' appearance versus a wheel with less offset.

IMO, the wheel fitment makes the car. I typically run a 19x9 +37 on these cars: the outside of the wheel would sit a full 13mm (1/2") more 'aggressively' than your proposed 19x8.5 +44. Something to think about...

Hey, it sounds like you know your info on offsets. Mind if I ask what you think is the ideal offset for out SC's? 18x8 and 18x9 wheel sizes.

I've got +37 up front and +38 in the rear. Thanks!

Bob is def the man that knows his stuff, no question about it. His job (an awesome one, I might add) may have something to do with that.

Thanks for the kind word, Peter... I just measured & developed our fitment for the new Maserati Spyder yesterday!

Howie, what SC do you have? Fist gen? second gen? Sounds like your offsets would work fine on either, but aren't quite "optimized" the way I do it.

Bob can you email me that fitment? I have a Maserati customer. It's 5:108 which is a bit odd (for me, at least).

My SC300 is a 95. What is your "optimized" fitment? I'm just curious. My offset seems to work pretty well...

Howie: yes, I must admit, it looks killer!

For my SC, I chose 19x9 +35 (2" lip) and 19x10 +35 (3" lip).

I prefer a really agressive wheel fitment, and this should be just that! I'll run 245/35zr19 front & 275/30zr19 rear- unless I can get my hands on a pair of 295/30zr19 Pirellis, in which case I will widen the rear inners: this will= 19x10.5 +41

For the average, everyday SC guy, I'd say a 19x9 +37 and 19x10 +40 is about right: the offsets would change slightly for other wheel widths: for example-

19x8 front would be +24
19x8.5 front would be +30

19x9 rear would be +27
19x9.5 rear would be +33

Wow, a +27 offset would work with the 9" wide rear? I had 275/35s on my 18x9 +38 rear and it was rubbing over every dip in the road. So I switched to 265/35's, which Mackin Industries recommended for me in the first place...haha...I'll never learn...

Thanks for your opinions...

I'd love to see pics of your car when you get your rims in...

Actually, the wheels are done, I have springs, shocks, tires, mufflers... I need a CAR!

I've been looking for a clean silver '97-up SC400 since December. I've gotten close a few times, but twice the car I wanted got sold right out from beneath me!

I'm starting to loosen up on my color preference now... can't do black (the magazines won't typically do articles on black cars), IMO the white looks like an egg... I've found a nice green one, and a burgundy '98 that is a possibility.

I'll post pics as soon as I make the big purchase!
