Winter Tire question?
Can I run 16 inch steelies with 205/60/16 tires on my IS300? I want to get the General Altimax winter tires, but they are quite restrictive on the sizing.... would 215/55/16 be better?
TIA.
TIA.

215/55 would be better, but it is still too large in diameter by 3/4"
is there a specific reason for those tires??? there are definitely better winter tires on the market that are a better size for you...
ideal would be a 205/55-16 almost the same diameter as stock and narrow...
Michelin, Bridgestone, Pirelli, Continental, Dunlop and more all make snow tires in this size (it is a very popular tire size)

on the Benz, 205/60-16 would be a proper snow tire size - diameter is close, and typically the thinner, the better....
as far as brands, its really hard to say... Michelin and Bridgestone are always on top, especially in the winter tire stuff... the cheapest I see is the Firestone tire, which, Firestone and Bridgestone are one in the same... no personal experience with any snow tire actually, I've always live in warm climates for the most part...
