Question Suspension Q

So I need to take out my Tein Flex so I can take it to Tein USA and get repacked.. So I need to re install my stock suspension. How hard or easy is this? Can I do it myself?/ Or do I need to take it to a shop to have someone with special tools or equipment do it?

Thanks,
Rock

Well, it's not hard to do but it takes time and patience.

The avg price for a shop to do this anywhere from 300-600. My buddy and I did it ourselves and it took about 6 hours. We took our time but probably could get it done in 3hrs or so.

From what I remember you will need:
coil spring compressor (external style and this can be rented out by autozone)
Jack stands
floor jack
wrenches or sockets: 10mm,12mm, 14mm,17mm (this is for my IS3...so yours may be diff)
hex sockets
torque wrench (this can also be rented out by autozone)

We did this with no power tools! LOL yeah, it was not fun but it was manageable. Power tools would be ideal. =)

I got DIY instructions over on my.is, I am sure someone has this for your ride in your forum just ask around.

GL! In the end I was happy to have done it myself and learned a lot about my suspension....oh and also saved a few hundred bucks!

Hahaha...my fault, I completely forgot about that. You know we had the beer breaks that's why it took 6 hours to complete! LOL

Yeah, its fairly easy.....just takes time. Removing the trunk/cargo area was seriously harder than installing the rear springs! haha

Default susp

I didn't think you needed a spring compressor... I thought you just take the shock/spring set and just bolt it on...?

I can't get the stock rear suspension back in. Any advice? My only problem is the Camber Bolt.

That's what I thought at first but when I was going through the instructions it said it was a must to go get one. Now that I have used it....I wouldn't know how to get the springs out without it. lol

Wait...if you are just removing the shock/spring together then yes, you do not need a compressor. It's just a bolt on and off....piece a cake!
