I'm looking get a set of summer tires (never purchased summer tires before) so I'm not on the up n' up.
What tires would you recommend that have good both wet & dry traction that are quiet & comfy?

Toyo T1R's?

BTW - I'm not looking to spend a fortune, ala PS2... something in the T1R pricerange please.... thanks!

I'm running T1Rs and am happy with the ride/comfort dry and wet.

I should also note, I'm looking to try these on for size throughout the winter too... I WILL NOT drive them when actuall snow is on the ground, only when the roads are either wet or dry.

I know some people drive summer tires year round. Whats the deal with the whole summer tire compound and freezing temperatures? Could I get away with driving these summer tires if its like 25 degree's out? What would I expect?

Here's the deal, I'm trying to get away from A/S tires as I think they aren't really good at anything.
But I just don't have the budget to buy winter tires right now, then buy summer tires 6 months down the road - so I'm trying to get away with one set of tires year round.

I was hoping a good wet/dry traction summer tire would suffice - as long as I don't drive when there's actual ice/snow on the ground. I would only drive if the roads are wet or dry and thats it. - So whats the deal w/ cold/freezing weather and summer tires?

I'm not in the know...

BFgoodrich KDW

they'll kick up some tire smoke in the wet so you know they're excellent in dry/wet conditions. im not sure about the sound quality though

Don't go w/ the T1-R's I have them on my iForged wheels and they're the exact oppostite of what you want. (terrible in wet conditions and louder than ****.) but when the rainy season comes I'm putting th stockies w/ Continental SportContact3's which are GREAT in all seasons..

You might wanna check out this article:

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...mparison_tests

9 sets of tires compared to the PS2s, all much cheaper, several offering better performance.

Those Nitto Invos do quite poorly actually... second from last in dry lap time and braking, though they did well for wet...

(the s drives were 6th out of 9, the BFG KDWs 5th out of 9)

The Hankook ones sound like exactly what you're looking for... better autocross score on dry than the PS2s, wet traction second only to the PS2s (and better wet braking)... and tops for quiet.

Along with other comments has me going towards the Hankook.

Something to keep in mind, you might want to look into a Grand Touring tire. they offer all of the handling characteristics drivers of luxury cars look need (smooth ride, quiet) while retaining significant performance handling. I have a set of Toyo Versado's on my car and it really is the best of both worlds. They're labeled as Luxury Touring tires....IMHO people have been sleeping on these.

Toyo Versado = Nitto Invo with a different tread pattern...
