Tire Pressure for 18" Rim
Does anyone know what is the appropriate tire pressure for the 18" wheel? Tire size: 245/40/18?
I am having mine 18" mount tomorrow or Friday and need to know the tire pressure?
Thanks
Does 38PSI sound resonable on Yoko AVSDB?

38 psi for everyday driving is a little high.
Recommended pressure for stock 17" is 33 ... Use slightly lower pressure for 18" - 31-32 psi is o.k. Your rims would be less stressed when hitting a pothole.
For sustained use @ high speeds, however, raise your pressure to 38 psi.

I think the recommended pressures for tires are always printed on the tire sidewall itself. Would/Should those pressures change in lieu of the OD of the rim?

depend on your tires. it labels the maximum pressure for that tire, on the side wall of the tire. (I usually give it like 7-10 psi below the max, ie max 40- I put 33psi, max 50-I put 40) get it?
you can't take somebody else pressure and use on your tires, depend on your tire max pressure rating

Tire Pressure
Dex - Anh's right. The pressure on the side of the tire reflects the manufacturer's maximium recommended cold tire pressure. The vehicle recommended pressure is found in the inside of the driver's or passenger's door on a placard. That's where our problems lies. Lexus didn't use an 18" wheel/tire combo so there won't be a suggestion. The Lexus pressure's R conservative but are designed to give a balance of ride comfort & performance & R somewhat tuned to the suspension. I personally run anywhere between 42 psi ( when I want to attack the twistys ) down to 35 psi ( for comfort ). Just keep an eye on the wear pattern of the tread for overpressure/underpressure.
