Default winter tire measurements

1. Right now I have a 2IS RWD with stock 17"x8.0" wheels.

Should I keep running a staggered setup for winter (F:225/45/17 and R:245/45/17) or run the same size all around(225/45/17). (I heard thinner wheels are better for winter tires)

Can I run any tires thinner than 225 without any problems?

2. Any winter tires out there that can outperform the bridgestone blizzaks ws-60?

I would strongly suggest running same tires all around. Yes, thinner wheels are better. You are located in Vancouver, so I would get 215. I am no expert in this so hopefully others can chime in on this too.

ws-60 has good reviews, but I would go on tirerack.com, there are tons of reviews on many different type of winter tires.
