In the market for some new tires to go on our 06 MDX and I'm looking for suggestions. Something priced at no more than around $100 each, quiet ride, descent snow traction, good hydroplane resistance and long lasting are the priorities. So far the below two tires have my attention.

Kumho Solus KR21 (Standard Touring All-Season)
These tires are very affordable and appear to have excellent ratings, which seem to contradict.


Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max (All-Season)
These tires also caught my attention with the allure of potential fuel savings, good looks and priced right. The only thing that puzzles me is that they weight at least 3lbs less than the competition. Weaker sidewalls or what?

I ended up ordering the Goodyear Assurance tires and hope for the best. I've read mixed things about them, but have yet to hear an opinion from an MDX or similar sized vehicle.

Check out costco or walmart. One of them had clearance pricing on Michelin Cross-Terrains.

I would also look at Yoko Geolandars and Bridgestone Dueler Alenzas. I did this tire search for my mom's MDX
