Default Old tires--how old is too old?

I've had a set of tires on one of my cars since 2004. The tread is only halfway down (5/32") but the tires have taken a orange-brownish hue.

How do I know when a tire is 'too old' and needs replacing?

Thanks!

the above video explains why you need to get new tires, even if your tires are like new condition. do a search, there was another video link that explains the tire manufacturing date, and how you know if the tires you buy were manufactured recently or many years ago. imho, don't drive on tires that are more than 5 years old, it's not worth the risk.

edit: that link i mentioned expired, no longer works. try this one by tirerack:
