Is it bad to have different tires brands with staggered wheel?
I currently have 245/40ZR18 Continental ContiSportContact 2 in the front and looking to get 265/35/18 DUNLOP SP SPORT-9000 for the rear. I found a great deal on the Dunlops and don't want to pass on them. What do you guys think and any experience w/ Dunlops SP Sport anyone? BTW, both tires are in Category "Max Performance Summer" under tire rack, this was why I was thinking it might be okay.

of course i'd also agree it's not recommended and possible that if you push those tires then you might see issues (just as i mentioned in post #4), but for normal driving, i don't see problem

It's ok to replace just two tires as long as they go on the same axel. When replacing only two tires, it's best they go to the rear (which in this case they are). The speed rating and load index between the Conti Sport2 and Sp Sport 9000 are the same I believe which is good. The only concern with this is when performing an emergency maneuver. Your rear tires are going to be acting differently than your front tires.
Aren't the Sp Sport 9000's discontinued?

Where did you pick them up at for that price?
