Lightbulb Ambiguous question on a rim....

I remember a year or so ago i was in a Lexus showroom and they had this GS in it. It had the most amazing rims i had ever seen. They were 3-piece rims that were either 18 or 20" and i think the car was lowered too...When i asked the salesman i think he told me they were 5,000(could have been 3 tho). I dont remember at all what they look like now...I was sitting around today and the thought came to my mind. I emailed the dealer a week after i saw the rims but i got a perfunctory answer like "thank you for your interest in Lexus parts...Please come in to find a great selection here at the dealer. "

I dont think my dealer uses any aftermarket brands for rims...In fact normally the cars displayed are factory like. As you walk into the showroom they have a little display case of a few rims but they are like 17 or 18" mesh wheels, but im not sure what brand. Any idea what brands Lexus might use for rims? I almost positive that the wheel wasnt mesh cause it was 3 pieces....

Thanks

I may be wrong, but I have never seen a Lexus 3 piece OEM wheel. Many dealerships will buy aftermarket wheels for a few select display cars, or more often than not, the owner's personal car which he keeps in the show room.

Yep, when I bought my GS, I saw a new SC430 on the showroom floor with 19's. I asked what type of wheel and how much? It had a fat lip and looked 3 pc. But nobody knew... I think this is becoming a trend at dealers to get customers excited...

Whatever you do, NEVER, EVER buy the dealer "aftermarket" wheels. Most dealers add a 400% profit margin on them. Not only that, most of them are CHEAP wheels. I've been to every Lexus dealer in the Southern California area and every one them that had aftermarket wheels on them were CHEAP wheels (knock-offs in most cases)...

I would love to work with a dealer to "hook" up one of their showroom cars but they're all chicken-*****s when it comes to lowering...maybe I can convince one to do at LEAST a L-Tuned job...

How dope would it be to walk into a dealership and have a fully hooked up Wald LS430 on 20's?

they might be BBS wheels, b/c at my local dealership, that is what the "aftermarket" wheels, are, that would be my bet.

Default L-Sportline

I'd guess that you might be thinking of L-Sportline.

My local dealer puts them on a few rides and charges like 5 grand for them. I think they would be overpirced at half that.
