Default Hre Dish Wheel!

Ok folks, here it is HRE has finally released a "basic" dish wheel that's high quality and forged...the new HRE 544...

Nothing earth shattering in terms of design but this is hopefully the first step to more dish wheels from HRE...hmmmm...maybe I'll do a set on my "beater"...

BTW, I'm leaving for the ClubLexus Mega Meet in a few hours so I won't be back until Monday to answer questions (if there are any)...

The 540 series is 22-26 lbs depending on size and width.

If you'd like more information on those wheels, please let me know.

I believe these are the wheels they were internally calling the "salt flat" wheels.

Also referred to as the "Lorinser style" wheel and the "J-dub Dub" (after HREs Vice President of Sales, J.W.), the 544s aren't as heavy as they look- you can see the cross-section of the wheels has been reduced compared to the standard 540 series wheels.

It was thought that Mercedes owners prefer this type of style to HREs more "spoke-ish" styles, due to the MBs typically ugly & dusty brakes. Looks like they appeal to owners of other fine luxury cars as well!

Currently, they are 20" only, but a 19" 544R (flat lip) is possible if there are any takers...

Ugh...now that I am almost done with my system, I would do engine swap and new paint. I have 19s for now anyway...later...

Hey SoCal,

What about 544R in 20"...are there any plans? I think those would look nice on a LS or even a SC/GS depending on the body kit...

544R in 20" is inevitable... right now I am working on the drawings for 20" reverse styles and center forgings, then off to tooling, then the test lab & (finally) production.

The 20"x2" Reverse outer lip needed for the front of Lexus/Mercedes is being tooled for as we speak: I'd say we're talking 90 days or so... put you down for set #1, Mike?

SoCal- are the 540R's available for purchase in 20" yet? I know this has been discussed by a few CL members and some say yes while others say no.

Thanks
