How can you use it? There is no single fiber of carbon in those wheels!

I thought you were going for CF wheels?

Well AZEV hasn't released the CF wheels yet...and no one seems to have info on it...if they release it soon, I'll get them, otherwise, I'd rather get another get of HRE's or maybe the AutoCouture Magnifiques...

It really depends on what I get as a "beater". Right now, a low milage SC300 is what I'm looking at (I was looking at a UCF20/21 ~MC LS400 and a JZ147 GS300 also)...unless I find a killer deal on one of the other two...I am waiting to hear about a super clean, super low mile JZS147 GS300 though..

Definitely no bling-bling happening on my car. I'd NEVER buy the Magnifique or 544R's in Chrome or even high polished.

It'll be either silver or diamond cut (machine polish)...

Also, those are Brabus wheels, not Magnifiques...you'll notice the "pie wedges" aren't at the edge like the Magnifiques...

You know, even in 20", I think the centers of the Brabus wheels were like only 17"...talk about some serious stairstepping action on the lips...

A man with taste. My HREs are brushed aluminum.

Only thing I hate about HRE's are that even the 20's look like 19's.
This new dish wheel looks very promissing though. The salesman just called my house "hunting" me down. $1500 a rim....dem dehr rims better spin for that money.....hehe.

The 544R will change all of that- they use the "reverse drop-center" rims, for which HRE (for example) cuts its regular 20" size center for a 19" 'R' rims, giving a more full-face look.

The 544R will initially be available in 18R and 19R applications, with 20R sizes later this year. The rest of the 540R series will probably be avaiable for applications outside of Porsche & Ferrari around late 2002.

Here's an example of the 549R with the new rims:

Those are hand polished, not chrome. Most people mistake them for chrome...

Actually HRE does very little chrome- the heat that is put into the wheel during the chroming process affects the wheels' temper somewhat. Plus, it adds weight, and is a dis-similar metal (versus the 6060-T6 aluminum), so there can be warranty issues w/ chrome.

How about the 543R (for Manaray):

Zushwa - As soon as SoCalSC4 gets me my 20" 543R's!

SoCalSC4 - Man, WHY DO YOU TEASE ME LIKE THIS!!! Did I mention that I'm ready to drop a 100% deposit on my 543R's? RIGHT THIS SECOND. At 1:33AM April 05, 2002. Call me RIGHT NOW and I'll give you my CC number...can I be any more serious?! Let me know, I can even drop off the car so we can try some "new" offset/widths...
