2nd gen GS 19X9 +39 and 10X10 +39 fat setup
Hi everyone,
I am planning to put on my 19" wheels back in action as my current stock tires are due to be replaced.
before this stock tires, I was on this 19" setup (wheel spec in title). However, less than 15K miles with more than 1/2 of the thread still remaining, my tires are all damaged. tire size was 245/35/19 and 275/30/19.
the damage is in the inside side walls. all 4 tires' inside side wall had bumps all over. and some bumps are as big as 1/4 of the radius. (see pictures below)
this is why I am considering fat setup. I am considering the following setup. Please let me know which size is better.
front : 245/40/19 OR 255/35/19
rear : 275/35/19 OR 285/30/19
my question is should I increase the sidewall or width of the tire size to avoid or reduce the problem I had with my previous 19" tires?
Please note, I do drive fast, but only on smooth surface freeway. in local or hash surface freeway, I drive like a grand mom. So I don't think my driving style is the problem. but the old 19" tire still damaged like this. Base on my eyes, I don't see any bent or dent on the wheels. Oooh one more thing, my GS is lowered with Tien CS with 2 finger gap.
I was thinking 255/40/19 and 285/35/19. However, this seems off the spec too much and it might fail my stock brake?
any advice is welcome.
here is the pictured of my old tires. this wheels and tires has been stored for last 3 years. so the bump on the side wall is a lot better than when it was just off my GS.
thanks.

Any advise?
I guess my question can be simplied as
245/40/19 and 275/35/19
or
255/35/19 and 285/30/19
which size can make the tire a bit more durable? or can have better result then my old tire which is 245/35/19 and 275/30/19
thanks.

the diameter and the weight of the tires and rims will make a difference in stopping distance. if the tire is too tall or heavy your stopping distance will decrease. from experience... don't buy cheap tires for high power and heavy vehicles. also, don't buy anything less then a "V" rated tire. i did a burn out with a yoko proxes and i got a bubble on an almost new tire - i have 245/40 17. now, i run only "w" or higher rating with no problems.
also, are u running the 275/35 with a spacer or will they fit? i am changing my tires this week end, and those are the sizes that i am looking at.

No spacer. the curret wheel is 19X9 and 19X10 which is wide enough.
after all I just ordered the same size tire as my old setup. as everyone I asked seems the original size was ideal (245/35/19 and 275/30/19).
so I will try one more time and maybe just the old tire's quality was bad. (Dunlop Digi Tire, directly import from Japan as the wheel and tire package).
