Mix run flats with non runflats?
I have an sc430 with two new`dunlop 245/40/18 runflats on the rear axle. The fronts are down to 3/32nds. I would like to put non runflats on the front. Our driving patterns are close to home for the most part. Is it ok to mix runflats with non runflats providing they are on different axles?

Do you have a spare tire with your car? I had the runflats also on the GS and didnt mind them but I guess many of the models that have the runflats dont have a spare. I didnt know this till I was told but luckily I had one in my trunk. I sold (gave) all 4 of mine to a local member a few weeks back.

No I do not have a spare, I have AAA if needed. I can't remember that last time I used a spare, but am willing to gamble to get a softer ride over the stiff run flats.

Thanks mitsuguy, you are right my error on the tire size . I think I will give it a try putting non runflats on the front. The car is driven very gently around town no agressive driving at all, and never in rain . Our local tire shop wants close to $900 as does the Lexus dealer for two runflats!!

in the interest of budget, its not a big deal to put two non-runflats on one axle and keep the other two as run-flats. but PLEASE do not spend 900 bucks on tires. try tirerack.com or discounttire.com or fleabay! and you could probably get away with a little donut tire in the trunk too
