Default Tire tech gurus please chime in

I have heard from various sources that tires with full circumference bands in the tread design tend to cause more tramlining than tires with no such bands. Is there any truth to this?

Bands/Ridges - Continental CSC3

No bands - GY GSD3

P.S. I know all about sticky compounds, bad roads, crowns, toe, camber, etc. This thread is only about tread patterns as they relate to tramlining. Thanks!

Borrowed photos from tirerack site, hope they don't mind.

no truth whatsoever...

you will find tramlining more a product of tire size and alignment settings rather than tread design...

Haha, no, I wish. More recent than that, but not so recent to make me want to kill myself.
