Exclamation wheels question

Is it possible to have OEM Toyota wheels widened? I have heard this before, but I want to know if it is possible, and recommended. I know you can add spacers, but just not sure I want to add a wheel spacer to the front due to the stress. Anyone have wheel spacers up front of say 25mm and if you do, what is your experience??

Thanks,
Rock

I wonder about the stress issue too, since I've been playing with the idea to add 15mm to the front.

Default wheels

I was told by a perf shop that adding a 15mm would not be too bad, but best to add a 5 or 10 and no longer studs would be required. But I am not sold on how safe that would be since they are at a much higher stress than the rear wheels.... especially if you hit a pot hole or run over something... Where are all the wheel gurus?? Help!!

anytime you re engineer a car, you put more stress on wheel bearings, ball joints, etc...

also, obviously, wheel studs and such... if ever can be avoided, I would definitely not use spacers... too many variables...

as far as widening a wheel, I've seen it done once, but, same thing, your safety is left up to a welder to do a good job...
