Bridgestone LM-25 or Yokohama W. Drive for snow tires?
Hello Club Lexus members,
Winter is coming and I am going to buy a set of snow tires. I am driving IS350 and would like to put on 225/40/18 at front and 255/40/18 at rear. Before I went to tire shop I have Bridgestone LM-25 in my mind; however, the tire shop suggests me to consider about Yokohama W. Drive (a set of Yokohama is about $20.00 cheaper than a set of Bridgestone). I tried to search the web for testing review on Yokohama W. Drive, but I could not find much info about it. Only thing I find out about Yokohama W. Drive is it can drive all year around even though it is a winter tire.
Would you consider Bridgestone LM-25 or Yokohama W. Drive? Your input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

why stagger sizes on a winter setup? The best winter setup consists of tires that are narrower but the the narrower that you go than you lose the ability to stop well. So meeting somewhere in the middle is the best I am running 225/45 18 on my winter set and they offer me great traction in the snow and good stopping power. I am running the Bridgestone LM-22's so I cannot tell you which one you should put onto your ride but I have no problems with mine and have yet to get stuck even in deep snow. I would also never recommend to use snow tires in warm weather since the rubber compound is much softer at high temps leading to greater wear. So if the Yokohama's have the ability to be driven all year round it leads me to believe that they are more of an all season tire versus winter tire.

Thanks for the suggestion
Thank you for the suggestion Spyder78.
The link below is the only place I find review about Yokohama W. Drive.

It sounds quite impressive for me from this review for a WINTER tire; however, there are not lot reviews or other info I could find.
If anyone got experiences or other review please post a link.
Thank you

I used the W.drive tires on my IS250 AWD last winter (and I will be using them again this year - they are already on the car). I thought they were amazing. The only drawback for me was that the traction on ice (for braking and cornering) could be improved. on the other hand, the dry pavement handling is as good as the OE summer tires (maybe better).
