Default Time for new tires.. Michelin pilot sport A/S any good or something else?

There's not much of a price difference between the regular pilot sport and the A/S version. What do you guys recommend. TIA!

Depends on what your goals are. If you want more performance, you probably don't want the A/S. I will likely get the PS2's next because rain doesn't scare me

They are a great compromise tire. You get good grip, a much longer wear rating ( I think it is 400) and you might ( I stress might) not end up in the guardrail the first time snow hits. If you want ultimate grip the softer summer compound PS2 variants give more of it.

I've had my PS2 A/S for almost a year now and wouldn't trade them for anything else.
Great balance for winter and summer.
I was really impressed the other day while driving highway speeds in a VERY
heavy rain downpoor. No hydroplaining at all. I kept hauling ***.
They also did great in the snow last winter. They weren't great on the ice but
never got stuck or lost traction.

Have people replaced tires through the Lexus dealer or elsewhere? Lexus dealer seems overpriced for tires, but I'd also worry about someone else damaging the rims when changing the tires.

PS2's

currently i'm running on goodyear F1 Asymmetrical. supposed to be better but cost a little less.

DON'T GO TO A DEALER FOR TIRES!!!

LEXUS DEALERS WANT $300+ per tire for Michelin PS2!!!

The PS2's came out on top in Consumer Reports Summer Tire tests.
The A/S version came out in the middle of about 12 all season tires.

I would do PS2. The A/S that I had did not have enough grip on dry or wet.

That price sounds right.

PS2 is for full summer performance, A/S as stated, offers less grip but more for all seasons.

IS-F comes with PS2. Nuff said.

Default I have an '08 IS350, came with the Bridgestone

Summer Tires, believe they were ER33's. Got Lexus to give me new Michelin Pilot Sports All Seasons, and the monkeys there damaged all 4 of my 18' Lexus wheels. Nice.. So Lexus had to have a wheel guy come out and repair the damage that was mostly around the holes where the wheel nuts go, to all 4 wheels. In the process of that, I took out the factory jack, lifted up the right rear wheel, took it off, and just as I was getting out of the way of the car, the jack collapsed and the rear rotor hit the garage floor. A few seconds too late and it might have cut off a body part..
Its a possibility you may have the same dismal sevice issue at your dealership that I had. They did make it up to me, but it has been a disappointing experience that I had to go through this in the first place.
The best tires I have seen are the new Bridgestone RE960AS we just put on our '03 BMW 540iT with M5 wheels. They are awesome smooth, quiet, and grip like crazy. If they had made the staggered sizes for the dang Lexus I would have gotten those instead of these so-so Michelin Pilot Sport A/Seasons. DF

Default my IS250 needs tires

From the reviews at Tire Rack the Michelin Pilot A/S seems well liked and a quality product. Any toughts?

My only concern is the mounting job by the local installers. Would hate to screw up my wheels, senors or ride. Anyone had good or bad experiences.

Thanks

+1 on pilot sport a/s.... nearly 32K on mine and still have some tread left to go! they really mean it when they stamp 400 treadwear rating on these sidewalls....
