HRE 547 wheels (manaray)
I plan on purchasing a set of 19x9 and 19x10 HRE 547's for my SC430. I am thinking of going with a 40mm offset in the front and rear. Does this offset sound correct?
I have also noticed that a few people have gone with 19x8.5 and 19x9.5. Is there a reason? What would be the better choice?
I plan to use S-03 tires. 245-35 and 275-30
Thanks for the help

the reasoning for a 8.5" and 9.5" setup is that the tires (245 and 275) "fit" those widths. If you larger on the wheel width, the tire's sidewall will angle inward and it'll give you tire a round profile....

9s and 10s, David. Trust me, it's all good...
The 245s and 275s fit the reverse-lip rims very well, actually. You've seen 'em...
Check this new M3 with:
20x9 2" outer lip & 245/35zr19
20x10 3" outer lip & 275/30zr19
(Sorry it's so dark)

Those are 19" 448...they're not 20". (read the tire size descriptions...plus the 44x series doesn't come in 20")
Look at the tires...especially the rear, the tire's sidewall is angled at like 30 degrees or so. That's ugly IMO...
Also, reverse lip and normal lip wheels have NOTHING to do with tire fit. 275 on a 10" normal lip wheel will look "stretched" as it will on a 10" reverse lip wheel...

The rears look like that 'cause the tire's "bead protector" is sticking out next to the rim flange (it is supposed to).
Actually, the tires do look a bit different on the reverse-contour rims due to the radiused outer rim bead.
Yep, they are 19" wheels, a typo on my part. They're 19x9 & 19x10, and everyone who has seen that car says it looks '****.'
Lexluth is talking about 19s as well.

NO doubt that those look good on that car, there are many people that like that "angled sidewall" look. Japanese do it all the time to get maximum lip. I just think it looks better when the sidewall is more vertical. I don't like having the edge of lips stick out like that...but that's me....
What I'm saying is that I've seen the same tires in the same size on both a normal and a reverse lip wheel, they looked the same in terms of sidewall angle. A 275 on a 10" wide wheel, reverse or normal, will look a bit stretched no matter what...
