Are these too wide?
My fronts look like they stick out. They are Moda R6 18X9 all around. Is this the offset or the width of the wheel. Check these pics out:

I think because the tire is undersized, it gives it more a "sticking out" appearance...a 9" up front is usually considered a bit wide and on a non-lipped wheel, it doesn't offer a single bit of advantage (at least on a "lipped" wheel you can sometimes get a larger lip).
Offset could possibly bring the wheel in a bit more but you'll have check the inside of the wheel to see how close it is to everything...
Do you ever hit a serious dip or bump that pushes the wheels under the fender? Do you hear a scraping sound?

Right now, it doesnt rub or scrape at all. I showed the pics to the sales rep from the tire rack and he agreed they are too wide. He is going to swap them for the 8 inch up front.
