Need An Opinion On Winter Tires
My Blizzaks need replacing. I saw these on sale at Tire Rack:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....Blizzak+REVO+1
This tire seems to be a low end Blizzak with an attractive price of $ 61 a tire. I'm thinking about picking up a set. Does anyone have any experience with the REVO 1?

Get the Dunlop Winter Sport M3 tires. I swear by them ever since I first got a set for my father's G35 coupe. He's now gone through 2 G35's and is now on a G35X and we still have the tires on the car for the winter. We also got a set of them for my sister's civic si and I just got a set for my LS400. And you can drive on the regular streets and these tires wont melt like blizzaks do.

I think I'm going to go ahead and get them and set the aside for next winter. I bought my current Blizzaks used and they're done after two seasons (about 12k miles on them since I got them) I'm figuring that I can't go wrong for $ 240 for a set.

Ordered my Revo's yesterday and got them today. I spoke to someone at Tire rack who told me that deep snow and ice traction for these tires are not as good as the WS-60's. I'll let you guys know how they are next winter.

I was going to buy the Revo's today until I noticed that the ratings are lower across the board than the WS-60. The Revo looks more like the Blizzak WS-50 tires I have been using for the past five winters than the directional WS-60 tires which are still going for $95 each. I suspect the Revo's would be just fine but I have come to like the performance of directional summer tires so I think I will try winter directional tires the next time I buy.
My WS-50 tires are not yet down to the "winter wear bars" which is really amazing since they have almost 30,000 miles on them and five full winters behind them. The WS-50's are the first set of snow tires that have lasted nearly this long for me and I think I can squeeze one more winter out of them.
I think I am going to keep checking Tire Rack to see if they closeout the WS-60 tires later this spring or lower the price.
I always buy snow tires in the spring/summer and summer tires in the fall/winter to get the best prices.

I think the WS-60 is the best studless ice/snow tire you can get.. but I'm biased because I have a set, and I haven't really driven in insane snow. I use them to get up and down the mountain safely. I do hit a lot of black ice though, and they have performed amazingly.
