Question Novice about wheels

I just purchased SO 3's to replace the runflats. The new tires are the same size 245/40/18 as the factory runflats. I would like to replace the factory wheels/rims but do not want to buy new tires again, so I am looking for wheels/rims to fit the 245/40/18 SO 3's. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

what do you like? spoke, mesh , or dish style? what is your budget?

take a look at these sites for some ideas in 18x8.5 f+r, pick out a few, and we will give you some inputs:

www.work-wheels.co.jp
www.volkracing.co.jp
www.wheelexperts.com

there were some more sites that manaray listed on other wheel posts, take a look..

What would you suggest for a silver SC 430? Do you think with silver I should go polished or chrome? I am somewhat conservative. For 4 wheels I like to go $1000-$1500...am I out of the ballpark.

I saw OZ Antares chromed that looked great. They were 18 x 8...do I need 18 x 8.5? Thanks for your input.

A lot of people take the same position as me, if you drive a lexus, changing wheels you should get some good wheels for your car. Along the lines of Work Wheels, SSR, Volk, HRE and a number of other reputable companies, wheels that are meant for your car are gonna cost you in the range of $2500 to anywhere up in the $6000 range.

1000~1500 for 18s is actually very insufficient. You spent the money on S-03s, might as well spend more for rims.

But if that's all you wanna spend, the only wheels I would go with are SSR GT1, SSR Integral, and OZ Superleggera. I think GT1 is the best out of these.

Thanks all and please keep the comments coming. What should the size of the wheel be 18x8 or 18x8.5?

Thanks.

Ex

The SC430 comes with 18x8 wheels on 245x40x18. You could very well go with 8.5" on a 245 tire. I agree with the rest. You spent your hard earned money on a quality vehicle so purchase quality wheels.

Just for your reference, here is asilver SC430 with 19" SSR Agle Strusse silver w/chrime lip wheels. Good Luck!

GSNav hit it right on the head. A $60K car deserve some decent wheels...

As much as you don't want to waste your 18" S03's, considered this...the SC430 is definitely a large car. 19's and 20's look "right" on that car (I mean take a look at the silver SC!)...so I would consider doing 19's (on the SC430, I think you can do 9" front and a 10" rear w/o any problems)...although upfront, it seems like a waste of perfectly good 18" tires (which I'll admit, it is)... when those 18" S03's wear out, you'll still be stuck with 18" wheels...besides, you could probably sell those S03's to someone on ClubLexus (classified section please) to offset the loss...

ohh back to the topic. You can do as the guys said above and use an SSR GT1/GT3, any of the OZ stuff, Antera, AZEV. The best choice may be something like the one piece Model IV in 18x8.0 in silver. Best choice for the price IMO. I can do a set of 18x8.5s for 1250 plus shipping.
