Tire Sizes
What's the difference (is it noticeable feel and appearance wise) between a 245/35/19 and 235/35/19? They will be going on 19x8 rims all around. Thanks.

a 235/35-19 will give you a slightly harsher ride as the sidewall is smaller than 245/35-19 (the "35" number is a PERCENTAGE of the width...which in this case is 235 and 245)

Thanks Manaray. I'm getting my new rims and tires this weekend so I promise no more rim/tire questions after this week. Here's a few more. A few millimeters will actually make a noticeable difference? Can you see the difference between the two? Is it worth harrasing my tire guy to cancel the 235/35/19 and order 245/35/19. I'm getting everything at cost, so I'd rather not **** him off if the difference isn't that noticable. Thanks again.

I would push to get 245's...
Ride quality difference won't be DRAMATIC, but if I could get a few extra mm's, I would take it...I don't think he'll be pissed, just tell him that 245/35-19 is the recommended size (give him some warranty reason!

For anyone who is interested
Thanks manaray for all your help. I got my new rims on. 19" Axis (Xenex) Muse, Nitto 555 245/35/19 tires. Now my car feels like it's floating (like a boat). Rims too heavy? Shocks worn out? Tires suck? For next time, will 255 or 265 tires fit? Should I go to 30 profile if I go that wide? If my shocks are shot, I may switch to coil-overs. I know Tien CS would be the best, but what do you think of Tien HA (too hard?) What about Bilstein PSS? In any case, here are some pics.

You were mentioning suspension. Is your car lowered at all now?? I was just curious because it looks like it is. Do you have aftermarket springs with OE shocks?? If they are aftermarket, what brand?? Sorry for getting off topic.

josh, my car has lowering spings (1.75 inches) with stock shocks. That's why I thought maybe the shocks might be shot. The springs are Espilir (sp?) imported from japan. I've had them about 2 years now.

Yeah, props on the springs...definitely not your run of the mill...
While I love the design of the wheels, but you know me, I would have ONLY bought the real deal, the original AVS Model 5's...especially with how strong the USD is to the JPY right now... (1:133.7)
