19's and 20's
I have a stock 98 GS400. Can't decide between 19 and 20s. What are the differences in the ride? Will this void my Lexus warranty. What are recommended tires sizes for both. Will either fit without upgrading the suspension? What happens if I leave the stock springs and shocks. I keep hearing about offsets. What does that do and what kind do I need. As many details as possible about everything, please!!!

The ride on 19's or 20's is about the same...as for warranty, it depends on your Dealership...some will care (I would say most), but some others won't (especially if you get to know them)
For 20's, you can do 245/35-20 up front or all around. If you're going to stagger, 275/30-20 will work just fine...for 19's it's the same but in 19" sizes...245/35-19 and 275/30-19...
As for fit, offset will determine that. Up front, +37 to +45 should be fine...for the rear, +38 to +43 would be safe. You can give or take a bit but if you stay within those limits, you won't need to do any type of fender mods...try using the SEARCH function to look up "OFFSET". It has been discussed a billion times over (yes guys, I'm working on a FAQ!)
As for leaving it stock...well with either 19's or 20's, you're car will look like a 4x4 unless you lower it...
