There is usually a promo in the spring, not sure what products it will cover if they do have one.

I ordered the 18" RE960AS and a few minutes later recieved a call from a TR rep and was told there is a sidewall load issue on the 18" RE960 that would not work well with my IS.He recommended not buying the RE960s.
So I went with Goodyear Eagle F1 AS.

I send you my order and customer #'s

This is a post from bounceNY

"Just looked up the 17in. RE92's & Dunlop's (OEM one's) and they're both at a Load Index of 91 which is 1356lbs per tire.
TireRack does offer RE960AS PP's with a load index of 91 in 225/45/17.
RE960AS PPs offered at TireRack in 225/40/18 size are at a Load Index of 88 which is 1235lbs per tire, this is probably why TireRack flagged it.

The GoodYear F1 All Seasons have a Load Index of 92 which is 1389lbs per tire and an XL load rating.

Joe,

I'm thinking of getting the F1's as well in the spring for my 18's . Brandon, any deals on Goodyear's coming up @ TR?

The above quote was just my guess, that was the main parameter I saw which was different then our OEM tires (for IS250 AWD).

Hey guys! I'm filling in for Brandon under his log-in for a couple days. If you have sent him an email, I'm sure he will respond upon his return.

As for the promos or specials from the tire companies.... sales reps typically do not know until the day it happens when we get handed the memo.

Ok it looks like the gross axel weight rating for the front axel is 2575 and those RE960's you originally ordered only carry 1235 per tire. Therefore the tires do not carry enough weight which is why your order was flagged. To be safe a tire needs to carry at least 1/2 of the GAWR for the heaviest axel. Next time please order through the site and instead of someone you don't know not explaining to you fully, it will be my happy cheery self explaining the situation!

Like many times in the past,I ordered directly through Tire Rack using my vehicle description. The RE960s came up with other tires.I recieved the call after I ordered. If you mean ordering through this site with you,it seems I would have had the same result.
Poster BounceNY was pretty much on target of why the 18"tires were flagged as a no-no for the IS.

Maybe you can post the top 5 Ultra High Performance All Season Tires that an IS with 18" tires can actually use because your #1 rated 18" RE 960s can't be used on many,if not all 18" tire IS models.Time to edit

Edit: Except this is Club Lexus and not everyone has an IS250 with 18 inch wheels. Even if this were IS.Net I still wouldn't edit

Thumbs up

Brandon,

I'm wondering if the Goodyear Triple Tred's will be going on sale at all in the near future? I ask because I am now leaning towards getting a dedicated set of winter rubber from TR as well (215 55 17).

what is your opinion on the Pirelli Sottozero winter tire? Sorry to highjack.
