New Tire Question
I'm closing in on 20k miles on my car and still have some tread left on the factory Potenza RE050s. I'm looking at getting some high performance all season since I don't do a lot of crazy driving but want good stability on wet and icy roads. Here's what I'm thinking about getting: Goodyear Eagle F1 All Season. The reviews are really good.

I've also thought about these: Continental ContiExtremeContact. The ratings aren't as good but they're about $140 cheaper.

I would like to reccomend the Continental Extreme Contacts with the "Sharkfin" technology. They have above a 400 treadware and are quiet. Great for rain and snow. I guess in Texas, you only have to worry about the rain. I would stick all season regardless.

I got a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. Impressive! Glass smooth, and very responsive.
All other brands that I have tried (Dunlop SP Sport 8000, Kumho Ecsta ASX on my '00 323i and Dunlop SP Sport 5000M, Potenza RE92 on my '06 IS250) either feels rough, vibrate, or feels out of round.
Oh yes, I did road force balance on all of them, and only the Michelin actually rides glass smooth.

The bridgestone RE960 A/S is a great all season performance tire...
personally, if it were my car, it'd be RE960A/S, Pilot Sport A/S, or BFG Super Sport A/S... in that order...
The only benefit to the continentals is price and their all season capability - they are not good riding tires (we nicknamed them the low-pro all-terrain), and they don't handle that great either...

Thanks for everyone's imput. Now a question about the Bridgestones. I have factory 18" wheels, so my front tires are 225/40 and my rear ones are 255/40. Bridgestone makes a 225/40 but not the rear spec. There is a 245/40 however. Should that work?
